Officials: cooking and smoking hash oil poses grave dangers

MYFOXNY.COM -

Hash oil has high potency and higher risk. Several people trying to produce the oil have been injured in explosions all around the country because butane, which is highly flammable, is used in the production process.

Fire and explosions rocked a neighborhood outside Los Angeles recently, critically injuring two young men. A similar blast destroyed a private home in Denver. And near Seattle four people were injured when a residential home's sliding glass door shattered.

Investigators say that in each case, people inside these homes were illegally trying to cook hash oil using butane gas to extract the oil from marijuana plants.

Drug treatment counselors say hash oil is highly toxic to the body. If users don't get critically burned or injured trying to make the hash oil some are smoking it using e-cigarettes. Instead of filling pens with nicotine they inhale highly concentrated hash oil.

The consequences for your body far worse doctors say then getting high from smoking pot.
