Hacker taps into family's cable box, leaves threatening and vulgar messages on TV screen

An Indiana family says a stranger has hacked into their cable box and is now sending threatening messages and posting vulgar and graphic words on their living room TV.

Alana Meeks can't explain what's happening in her home.

The family says it started more than a week ago. Someone began taking control of the AT&T cable box -- typing messages on two of her TVs. messages like "I see you."

Some messages are even threaten to hurt Alana's 9-year-old granddaughter, Aniya.

"He wants to do more than hurt her, he wants to have sex with her. Pervert," Meeks said.

Alana is angry. but her family, especially Aniya, are devastated.

"She's scared to death," Meeks continued.

According to a police report, an officer who stopped by the house saw the bizarre messages himself.

Alana even tried covering her windows, in case someone was watching, however, it didn't work.

"If you want me, come get me, you know where I'm at. But you can’t have my grandbaby," she said.

A FOX crew, who went to the house to cover the story, saw it happen right in front of them. Whoever was hacking the system knew they were there and typed FOX59 in the search field.

AT&T says it is working with Meeks to find out what's going on.

Alana hopes this hacker, will be caught.
