Posted: Updated:

Firefighters found a body in a home after they put out an overnight fire.

It happened around 3 a.m. at home in the 6700 block of Keswick Drive, which is in the Red Bird area of southwest Dallas.

Firefighters said the intensity of the flames and burglar bars made it difficult to enter the home.

The victim's body was found after crews put out the blaze.

Family members identified the victim as 29-year-old Joseph Yates, Jr., a singer and musician. They believe he fell asleep with something on the stove.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
