Funeral set for Saturday for Dallas teen, Troy Causey

Posted: Updated:

A funeral for the Dallas high school student and basketball star who was beaten to death is set to take place Saturday.

More than 100 people gathered Friday for a vigil to remember 18-year-old Troy Causey and pray for justice in the teen's violent death.

Causey played basketball for Wilmer Hutchins High School.

He was beaten to death in front of his Oak Cliff house Sunday night. Detectives tell FOX 4 they have identified one of the two men who fought with Causey in the street, and have questioned him.

Sources said the person they questioned was also a teenager.

Causey was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries, including a fractured skull and bleeding and swelling of his brain.

He died Tuesday.

Causey's funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Inspiring Body of Christ Church 7701 S. Westmoreland Avenue in Dallas.
