Dallas among the worst cities for spring allergies

Posted: Updated:

You knew it and now you have proof. Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the worst places for spring allergies.

Louisville, Ky. tops the list this year by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

It's followed by Memphis, Tenn., Baton Rouge, La., Oklahoma City, Jackson, Miss. and Chattanooga, Tenn. Dallas is up from No. 23 to No. 7.

Four other Texas cities, including McAllen, San Antonio, Houston and Austin, are in the top 50.

The list is based on pollen counts, medication sales and the number of allergy doctors.

Not moving any time soon? The AAFA's recommendations for allergy sufferers include dust to control mites, vaccuum often, reduce pet dander, shut out pollen and avoid mold spores.
