Texas school bus driver punished for taunting

Posted: Updated:

FLORESVILLE, Texas (AP) - A South Texas school bus driver has been disciplined after being heard calling a sobbing student "crybaby" and urging other children to chime in and mock the girl.

KSAT-TV (http://bit.ly/1pKdtrH ) reported Tuesday that the Floresville Elementary School bus driver invited other students to chant "Cry, cry cry" at the upset girl.

The onboard bus video and audio were obtained by the San Antonio television station through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The name of the driver hasn't been released. School officials didn't immediately say why the student was crying in the recent incident.

Floresville Independent School District Superintendent Sherri Bays says the bus driver's actions were not appropriate. Bays declined to say how the driver has been disciplined.

KSAT reports the driver was on her regular route this week.

The NYPD says they have identified the suspects for the major security breach that had white flags replace the American flags at the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the most highly secured landmarks in New York City, according to the New York Post. Police say they only know the suspects by nicknames, not their legitimate names. They are working on getting their names in order to bring the suspects in for questioning. The Post says nearly three dozen detectives were on the case.
