Claim: NJ Not Ready For Zombie Apocalypse

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) - New Jersey is typically ready for anything that comes its way, but if there were to ever be a zombie apocalypse the Garden State is woefully unprepared. This unpleasant information came from a recent Estately Blog that ranked each state by how prepared they are to fight off a zombie apocalypse.

The rankings were based off of military personal, physical activity, martial arts, survival skills, knowledge of zombies, laser tag, gun owners, obesity, paintball, and ironman triathlons in each state.

Don’t let this blog fool you however; some New Jerseyans have come to the state’s defense!

Mark Scelza teaches a zombie survival course and he believes the Garden State would fare just fine amongst zombies. He said the fact that Asbury Park, New Jersey holds a zombie parade and because he offers a camp for preparation in case of a zombie attack, those are just some of the reasons why we’re overly prepared.

Neil Cohen is the author of “Exit 0” and he chimed in to give his zombie-expert incite on New Jersey’s apocalypse preparedness as well.

“First of all it says ‘New Jersey people are not gun owners’. New Jersey people own guns we just don’t telegraph it. We are not driving around in a pickup truck with a rifle and a gun rack. We’re driving around in escalades with a 38 under the seat,” Cohen explained.

The blog also states that ‘New Jersey people are not active.’ Cohen continues to defend the Garden State and its people.

“Have you ever seen a 250 pound guy run up the steps at Giant Stadium at half time for a beer? When push comes to shove New Jersey people can be very active and trust me New Jersey people know how to push and shove,” he defended.

All in all, New Jersey has survived many things like: the Hindenburg, Superstorm Sandy, and according to Cohen the state even survived Bruce Springsteen’s Lucky Town album. So, if we can survive all that, than apparently we can survive anything!

As comedic as Cohen’s affirmative zombie survival points are, I think it’s safe to say that the Garden State and its residents can handle just about anything that comes our way!

The town of Hoboken, New Jersey is cracking down on Uber cars driving in and picking up passengers in the city. Uber is an app that you can use to request a car service to pick you up, but city officials say they are not licensed to operate in town. Marcus Enriquez was actually thrown out of an Uber car by a Hoboken police officer. He said he was on his way to work outside of the Hoboken taxi stand when a cop knocked on the window, kicked him out of the car and ticketed the Uber driver.
