Atlanta street workers botch Buckhead road striping

Posted: Updated:
BUCKHEAD, Ga. -

Some Buckhead residents complain that road work done by City of Atlanta crews looked more like an April Fool's day joke than real work.

Residents sent photos to our FOX 5 Facebook Page, concerned about a botched street paint job completed by a City of Atlanta crew Tuesday.

The crew laid down a fresh striping of white paint on Old Ivy Road in Buckhead, but they failed to clean the road before applying the paint.

The crew painted over leaves, pine cones and other debris. The striping also features long patches of incomplete sections that are covered with dirt.

"Our standard protocol is to send a clean-up crew out before the striping crew. Clearly, that did not happen in this instance. A street sweeper crew will be at this location this (Wednesday) afternoon to clean the debris," a spokesperson for the mayor's office told FOX 5.

A street cleaner did come to the road Wednesday afternoon to clean the roads.
