Many people see Darren Miller as a true patriot. If you don't remember Miller's face, you may remember his hot dogs. Last year Miller was involved in a controversy over his McDonough restaurant.
Miller flew eight flags over his restaurant which was a violation of McDonough city code. Miller's flags included an American flag and a Marine Corps flag.
Miller moved his restaurant. CJ's Hot Dogs can now be found in Hapeville, but without any flags. Flying the number flags in the location he wants to fly them is a code violation in Hapeville, but Miller claims the move is a blessing.
Miller says he is not discouraged, because he says the city is working with him to find a place for some of his flags. "What's really going to be a blessing here, because these guys have been working with us, instead of just slamming me with a fine, which happened in the past," says Miller.
Miller says the city is working with him to draw up a more creative way to fly at least some of his flags.
"It's nice to see a helping hand instead of someone beating you down for what you believe in," says Miller.
