Heavy Rain Expected In Our Region

PHILADELPHIA -

FOX 29's Sue Serio says it seems like we are seeing sunshine but it will not be with us too much longer. This is because we have clouds moving in ahead of the rain that we're expecting in this area by lunchtime.

Rain is moving in from the Southwest to the Northeast, and the heaviest of it is right over Atlanta, Georgia. There are also some strong thunderstorms in Alabama. Tornado Watches are in effect for those areas but we don't expect anything that severe in our region. We could hear some thunder in the overnight hours tonight.

By noon time today, rain will move into Lancaster and then Southern Delaware by 3:00p.m.

Rain will spread throughout the area heavy at times by 6:00p.m and then thunder and lightning possible by 11:00 p.m

Forecast shows it will still be raining at 4:00a.m Tuesday morning when FOX 29 Morning News gets started, but it won't be long before the sun is out by 8:00a.m.

By 4:00p.m during the Phillies Home Opener, we are expecting clear skies.

We are also expecting temperatures of around 60 on Wednesday, mild temperatures on Thursday, and a high of 68 on Friday.

By Saturday, temperatures will be mid 60's. By Sunday, we're talking the 70's show. That is some great news!
