Shoplifting suspect in ankle monitor arrested

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -

The Grand Prairie Police Department has arrested the man who allegedly stole clothes from a store while wearing an ankle monitor.

Leslie McGuire, 32, is accused of stealing more than $300 worth of clothing from Saks 5th Avenue in the Grand Prairie Outlet Mall.

Police said he was identified only a few hours after surveillance images were broadcast on television and shared on social media.

In the images he was wearing what appears to be an ankle monitor, in addition to a green Texas Rangers baseball cap, blue t-shirt and blue shorts.

Detectives issued a warrant for his arrest and a couple days later he was behind bars, police said.

He is being held at the Tarrant County jail on charges of theft and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
