Videographer Saves The Wedding Day

Posted: Updated:
Staten Island, New York (My9NJ) - Earlier this year, a bride in Staten Island paid up-front and in-full for her wedding video, but she came very close to not being able to relive her special day.

Dennis Goldberg is a wedding photographer at Acme Video Productions, he was subcontracted by an outside company to shoot the wedding video. However, after the big day came and went he tried to collect his payment and give the bride her video, but the company who originally hired him seemed to disappear.

Goldberg tried multiple times to set up a meeting and collect the rest of his payment, but the company kept canceling on him.

Goldberg explained that he received a small payment upfront and made the original company sign a contract that he would be paid in full by February 9, 2014.

“After that initial meeting, he was nowhere to be found, so my piece of paper that he signed means nothing,” he explained.

That didn’t stop Goldberg from doing the right thing however; he chose to still deliver the wedding video to the happy couple despite being owed the remainder of his payment.

“She was totally overwhelmed and crying and she couldn’t believe that I had the video in my hand and that she was going to be seeing it and I couldn’t wait to share it with her because I love dealing with any of my clients to be able to sit down and show them the actual footage whether it be walking down the aisle or just having fun on the dance floor whichever the case may be,” Goldberg explained.

He said that videographers play a very important role on wedding days and he wasn’t going to disappoint one of his clients.

“Videographers, photographers, DJ’s, caterers always get a bad rap, whether it going bankrupt, this one closing their doors, this one having a song and a dance and story and I said I have this hard drive of information of the girls wedding video and I have the power. I have the power to change that bad rap,” he said.

The original contractor was contacted but they refused to speak on the situation.

He said he was on his way to work outside of the Hoboken taxi stand when a cop knocked on the window, kicked him out of the car and ticketed the Uber driver.
