Thousands of people joined the March for Babies Saturday morning in Dallas and Fort Worth. The 5K races in both cities will raise money so that all babies have a chance at a healthy start.
Jaime Aaron knows firsthand how difficult it can be when babies are born premature.
His oldest son Zack was a born a month early and his twin sons were four months early. Josh and Jake Aaron weighed only about 18 ounces when they were born. They were essentially smaller than soda bottles.
But, all three boys are healthy now and participate in the March for Babies every year.
They said the March of Dimes helped their family so they go out as a family to support and raise money for others.
Much of the money raised during the campaign goes to the March of Dimes. It funds medical advancements with the hope of improving care in neonatal intensive care units.
However, a spokesman for the organization said people don't just march for those babies in the NICU, they also so that all babies can be born healthy.
