Military base mistakenly warns about non-existent threat

Posted: Updated:

The Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth accidentally sent out a text message Sunday morning about an active shooter on the base.

The text was sent during a training exercise and said to take shelter.

Many of the base personnel implemented their active shooter training in response to the message.

The base notified personnel that the message was a false alarm through the computer system and apologized.
