McKinney police are investigating a shooting Monday afternoon that left one man hospitalized.

Police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Dudperkins St. shortly after 3 p.m. on Monday. Police say they found the victim, 30-year-old Thadius Williams, in a backyard with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was flown to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.

Police are looking for a suspect, but details are currently very limited. It's unknown what caused the shooting. Police say the suspect took off after shooting the man several times.

Neighbors say they heard five shots.

Police also said several people witnessed the shooting, but they would not release any further information of a suspect description.

Officers are still on scene at the home and at the hospital, talking to family members and the victim.

SKY 4 showed evidence markers in the backyard, which is the focus of the investigation.
