Six shot at Montgomery Easter party

MONTGOMERY, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Six people shot at an Easter party early Sunday after a gunman opened fire in west suburban Montgomery have been released from the hospital, authorities said on Monday.

The shooting happened about 12:40 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 1300 block of Jackson Street, according to a statement from Montgomery police.

According to police, a man got out of a gold SUV with gold and black rims, and began shooting into a garage where the party was taking place.

Four men and two women, all said to be in their 20s, were shot, police said. Five were taken to Mercy Center Hospital while another person was driven to Rush Copley by a friend, police said. Children were at the party, but none were hit.

By Monday, all six had been released from the hospital, police said.

No suspects were in custody as of late Monday afternoon, as the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force and Montgomery police investigate.
