PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Divers with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office recovered the body of a 10 year-old girl who drowned in Saguaro Lake Sunday.

Emergency crews responded to the Butcher Jones Beach area when the girl went under.

Witnesses told authorities that three girls under the age of 15 were in a raft that flipped over.

All three girls struggled in the water as several people jumped in the water to save them.

"We were just standing on the shore, and once he heard the father say my daughters missing he jumped into the water," said Janet Sanchez.

"I got sons and all that, they're on my mind to help," said Oscar Palomares.

Good samaritans rescued two of the three girls, the victim dissapeared under the water.

MCSO says that the girl was not wearing a life vest, she was found 50 yards away from the shore.

"Just seeing the family suffering makes you think you have to cherish what you have," said Jazmin Gonzalez
