The city of Dallas will try again to get the fast-growing transportation for hire industry under control.
Two companies that insist they are not taxi companies are challenging the industry-leading Yellow Cab. Uber and Lyft both offer call for ride services through independent contractors.
The proposed regulations under review at City Hall would require "create a level playing field" by doing away with things like cab caps and fare regulations and require all carriers to have liability insurance.
