One taken to hospital after explosive device goes off in Grand Prairie

Police and fire crews are investigating after an explosive device went off in Grand Prairie Friday afternoon, according to an official with the Grand Prairie Police Department.

The device exploded in a home in the 2900 block of Harrier Street around 4:30 p.m.

Investigators say the blast appears to be accidental.

A victim was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive.

Irving’s bomb squad is also helping at the scene.
