Woman Sues Live Nation Over Splinters From Broken Bench

Posted: Updated:
Franklin Lakes, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Linda Vanston of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey is a huge fan of British Indian pop singer Engelbert Humperdinck. So, three years ago she went on a trip to see the legendary British crooner. Her lawyer, Rosemarie Arnold, said that it’s during that trip that she sat down on a wooden bench and ended up getting splinters in her butt and legs.

“She feels a burning stinging pain in both of her legs, and she stands up and realizes that the wood on the bench is broken so that there are shards of wood sticking out. And she got thousands of splinters in her legs,” she explained.

Now Arnold says that her poor client is suffering from posterior pain to this day, and she’s got recent pictures to prove it.

“You can see that even three years later she has scars all over her legs, and she also has fresh wounds where the splinters are still coming out three years later. She receives injections on a weekly basis to assist the wood from coming out of her legs,” Arnold said.

Live Nation, the music venue and promotion giant that runs Old Westbury where the incident occurred, is the party being sued here. They have been contacted for comment but have not returned calls or emails at this time.

For many, the conflict between Israel and Palestine hits close to home. Yesterday a rally took place outside of the United Nations building in New York City and people from both sides were on hand to voice their concerns about the ongoing airstrikes. New Jersey’s Rabbi Gross discussed the fact that many of his former students, after graduation, decided to join the Israeli Defense Force and are now immersed in the fighting.

This vehicle is actually used by the military in Iraq and Afghanistan. According to the military this isn't unheard of. Recently, the US government has given these vehicles away to law enforcement departments all over the country.
