People in Southwest Arlington are fed up with drivers making dangerous and illegal U-turns, cutting them off.
The problem spot is where Dangerfield Court meets Little Road near I-20.
"I've almost gotten hit a couple of times already and it's dangerous,” said Tanika Ortega.
Ortega filmed video of the intersection while she was stopped on the side of the road. It shows people making illegal U-turns as a long line people try to make a legal right turn to get out of a nearby neighborhood.
The roadway is clearly marked “No U-turn.”
"There's time enough for you to turn, make that left turn, but not enough time to make that U-turn,” said Ortega. “There's three different lanes over here."
Ortega is not alone. Some of her cautious neighbors trying to get safely out of the neighborhood are paying the price.
"It's time consuming,” said one driver. “You think they are going to turn in here and they'll sit there and wait, wait, and wait, and finally they'll do a U-turn. And there is a sign right there."
"It sometimes can take anywhere five to six minutes to get off of this street in the morning and the evening times,” said nearby resident and driver Rodney Gober.
Arlington police are aware of the problem and say they will continue enforcement. Neighbors say they often see Arlington officers writing tickets.
"Just obey the law,” said Ortega. “That's all you need to do is obey the laws, and everybody will be safe."
