Billboard error prompts literacy donation

Posted: Updated:
LONGVIEW, Texas - A Texas literacy program may benefit from an error on a billboard.

The Volkswagen-Mazda dealership in Longview put up a sign about six months ago. But instead of saying "Peace of Mind Warranty," the sign says "Piece."

"The sign is an unusually big sign with it being the old movie theater sign, so people did come in and tell us about it and everything. So we're taking care of the situation," said Travis Porter, general manager of Gorman McCracken Volkswagen-Mazda.

The GM said the dealership will donate what it would cost to fix the sign to the East Texas Literacy Council.
