20k show up for first-ever Suburbia Music Festival in Plano

Posted: Updated:
Plano officials are calling its first big-time music festival a “huge success.”

About 20,000 people showed up, according to city estimates, for the inaugural Suburbia Music Festival this past weekend at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve.

The two-day festival was held on Saturday and Sunday and featured acts like David Guetta, Alabama Shakes, J. Cole and Third Eye Blind.

Plano police reported the majority of incidents were heat-related. Twenty people on Saturday and 23 on Sunday were treated for heat-related illnesses. Two had to be transported to local hospitals. There were also three arrests for public intoxication.
