Bordentown Police Chief Injured In Accidental Gun Discharge

BURLINGTON COUNTY, N.J. - The Burlington County Prosecutor Office says around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Police Chief of Bordentown Frank Nucera, who is also the township administrator, went into the tax office at the Bordentown Municipal Office when his service revolver accidently discharged.

Chief Nucera suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, which is non-life-threatening.

Investigators say also in the tax office at the time was a juvenile who may have been involved in the accidental discharge of the weapon.

Police are questioning the juvenile about the incident.

The building has been shut down to the public with officers guarding the entrances. All roads in the area remain opened.
