Covington Teen Gets Major Surprise Thanks To Steve Harvey

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA, Ga. -

There's a very proud family in Covington right now. Proud, and surprised.

14-year-old Jah'Rell Stephens is the oldest son of 5 kids, and with no father at home, is "man of the house." His mother, Jacqueline, depends on him for a lot, and knows he's at an age when he needs some "guy time." That's why they both wanted the teen to attend Steve Harvey's National Mentoring Camp in Dallas this June. The camp is a place where young men growing up without fathers can learn "the principles of manhood." Thousands apply each year, but only 100 are chosen.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken got to surprise the mom and son with some amazing news -- Jah'Rell was chosen to attend the camp! How did they react? Click the video above to find out!
