Dallas man convicted of raping teen will face new judge on Thursday

Posted: Updated:
A Dallas man sentenced to probation for raping a 14-year-old classmate returns to court on Thursday to face a new judge.

Prosecutors have asked for new restrictions on 20-year-old Sir Young.

In 2011, he raped a classmate at Booker T. Washington High School. He was sentenced to five years’ probation, in part because the judge said the girl wasn't the rape victim she claimed to be.

State district Judge Jeanine Howard said she based the sentence partially on medical records that indicated the girl had had three sexual partners and had given birth.

Howard also sentenced Young to 250 hours of community service at a rape crisis center.

She recused herself from the case shortly after the sentencing.
