Chicago Wolves: A winning team worth your time

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It's no secret, Chicago is a hockey town.

But across town there's another team that is more accessible to the masses and they are winning just as much: The Chicago Wolves. And this season, they are demanding some serious respect.

The Wolves, Chicago's AHL team, start the second round of the playoffs against Toronto on Friday.

Team Captain Taylor Shorney knows they're not the only hockey team in town. but, there are plenty of benefits to checking out the wolves at the Allstate Arena.

Celebrating their 20th year, the team sports cheaper tickets, more accessible players and plenty of championship titles.

Anyone who hits the ice in the city will always be looking up to the mighty Chicago Blackhawks - but for the Wolves, that just makes them play harder.

They may not be the Blackhawks, but it doesn't matter. Chicago is a city of champions, and the Wolves are on their way to being one.

Kenneth Faried scored 22 points, Anthony Davis all of his 19 in the second half, and the U.S. rebounded from a rare deficit at halftime to beat Turkey 98-77 on Sunday in the Basketball World Cup.
They figured it would be simple, that they would just beat up on Turkey like they did Finland a night earlier.
