Phoenix couple wins $3.3M prize in Arizona Lottery

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A multi-million dollar lotto ticket was sold right here in Arizona and on Friday, the winners claimed their prize. So what is the Phoenix couple doing with all that quick cash?

"Feels wonderful.. wonderful."

Roberto Brito and his wife Anna are still in disbelief over their luck or lucky lotto ticket that is.

"There was screaming, there was crying, I don't believe it.. let me see the numbers," said Anna.

Robert, a city employee, stopped by the QT near 67th Avenue and Glendale on his way to work and purchased a ticket for that night's drawing.  That's when he realized he struck it rich -- $3.3 million rich.

"I purchased the ticket on Wednesday night, checked my old tickets from my wallet.. that's when I found out I had won the previous draw," he said.

"He finished his day at work, came home.. they let me know.. he and my daughter," said Anna.

Instead of a lump sum, Robert and Anna decided to spread out their winnings.  That means they'll receive $110,000 a year for the next 30 years.

"It's just so we can invest, enjoy life, take it one day at a time," said Robert.

Robert plays the lotto on a regular basis, but never imagined he'd be a big winner.  The couple has two adult children, have no plans to splurge -- only to take care of their loved ones and live out their lives with no financial worries.

According to the Arizona Lottery, the winning ticket for The Pick drawing was purchased on April 26.
