Viral request to #SingForNicole reaches late teen's favorite band

Posted: Updated:
The viral request to #SingForNicole has reached a late teen’s favorite band.

Funeral services were held Friday for 15-year-old Nicole Wilson, a Plano girl who passed away after complications from Type 1 diabetes.

During her funeral, a member of her favorite pop group, One Direction, tweeted her family well wishes.

Band member Liam Payne tweeted, "Sorry to hear about the passing of one of our fans, Nicole. Thoughts are with her family at this time. #SingForNicole.”

The hashtag #SingForNicole was created by Wilson’s sister in hopes of having the band dedicate her favorite song, The Story of My Life to her in August, when they perform at AT&T Stadium.

At Wilson’s funeral, her priest played Amazing Grace on the harmonica because he said she would have gotten a kick out of it.
