Police believe the deaths of three people in two North Texas locations are related.
Police found two bodies around 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the 100 block of Sherwood in Murphy, east of Plano. One body has been identified as Jonathon Masin, 40, of Murphy. The other body was identified as Amy R. Picchioti, 38, of Dallas.
Officers were responding to a welfare concern call from the father of one of the victims. When officers arrived, they found the bodies partially clothed and barefoot in two separate parts of the home.
A preliminary investigation has determined that neighbors heard what may have sounded like gunshots around 6:30 a.m.
Also Saturday, Dallas police responded to what appears to be a suicide, which has been linked to the deaths of Masin and Picchioti. Michele Boyer, 45, of Dallas was found in a car in the 100 block of Leda in Dallas.
A handgun similar to the weapon believed to have been used in the Murphy killings was recovered at the scene of the suicide. Police say Boyer is the ex-girlfriend of Masin, and their breakup led to the murder-suicide. A note was also found at the scene of the suicide.
Murphy detectives and crime scene personnel are being assisted by detectives of the Wylie Police Department as well as the Crime Scene Unit of the Collin County Sheriff's Office along with a Texas Ranger.
