Speeding and reckless driving blamed for crash

FORT WORTH, Texas -

One man is dead, a second in critical condition after the car they were in hit a guard rail and crashed in Fort Worth.

It happened around 1:30 Sunday morning in the 6700 block of the North Freeway, according to Fort Worth police.

The men were treated on scene, then taken to John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth. 21 year old Isaac Trujillo died in the hospital's ICU. The second man remains in critical condition.

The driver was speeding and driving recklessly through traffic, according to police.

The Southbound lanes of I-35W were shut down for two hours near Western Center Boulevard in Fort Worth. The lanes are now back open.

Fort Worth’s Traffic Investigation Unit is leading the investigation.
