Save Me Steve: Thrift Shop Fashion

Posted: Updated:

You can get brand clothes for less than $2 and sometimes for just a quarter.

FOX 4's Steve Noviello stopped by Thrift Giant Outlet on Northwest Highway in Dallas to find out more. Here's how it works.

Each Wednesday the outlet starts off with 35,000 new "gently used" clothing, shoes, handbags and accessory items priced at just $1.99.

Then the prices go down every day after that. By Tuesday, the prices are just 25 cents.

This week he found a $130 pair Coach shoes, a $170 Dooney & Bourke purse, a $500 Michael Kors handbag, a pair of $198 True Religion jeans, $88 Miss Me shorts, a $150 Banana Republic trench coat and a $129 BCBG black dress each for just $1.99.

Wednesday is the best day to find designer items, but Tuesday is the day for the best deals.

Thrift Giant also works with some non-profit charity partners including the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, Operation Kindness and Captain Hope's Kid and Child Care Group.

Best selection is first thing on Wednesday mornings. Brand names will constantly vary. As mentioned, customers will need to do some digging as this is a thrift store outlet not a traditionally organized retailer.
