Two people were killed Friday in a crash at FM 544 and Brand Road in Murphy, according to police.
The Nissan involved in the crash was reportedly going west on FM 544 just after 5:15 p.m. when it lost control, went off the road about 100 yard away, spun around, hit a guard rail and ended up near the side of some nearby railroad tracks.
The driver and two passengers, all males under the age of 22, were thrown as much as 20 feet from the car. Two died at the scene, and another was taken to a nearby hospital.
One of the victims is from Murphy and the other two are from Wylie.
Police say they believe speed was a factor in crash.
Despite the car ending up near the railroad tracks, police say it was not hit by a train.
