Quick-thinking good Samaritan helps save woman thrown from horse

Posted: Updated:
A horseback rider's quick thinking helped save a 72-year old woman who had fallen off of a horse in Plano.

Kathy Moye was recently thrown from her horse while riding the trails at Hidden Vale Stables.

Alexa Borota, a horse trainer at the stables, feared something was wrong when she saw a saddled horse roaming freely. She searched and found Moye under a tree.

"I ran up to her and she was just like, she just started laughing, and she was like, ‘Thank you so much so much for finding me,’” said Borota. “And she was like, ‘I was just laying here praying for somebody to find me and you did.’”

Borota was able to get the attention of a Plano Parks and Rec superintendent who called for help.

Moye suffered a concussion, a bruised lung and a few cracked ribs.
