PHOENIX - A brush fire sparked by a vehicle has closed Interstate 17 near Cordes Junction, about 35 miles north of Phoenix.

It's caused a traffic backup for over three miles on one of the main routes to northern Arizona.
Black Canyon Fire Department officials say the blaze was sparked about 2 p.m. Tuesday by an RV near the Sunset Point Rest Area and quickly grew to an estimated 20 acres.

From SkyFOX, you could see a frame of an RV still on fire with charred grass around it.
Crews are trying to stop the spread of flames along both sides of the interstate.
There are no reported injuries.
Arizona Department of Transportation officials say I-17 currently is closed in both directions near Sunset Point.  They say there's no indication yet when the freeway will reopen.

According to ADOT, alternative routes are to go through Wickenburg and Prescott or through Payson.
