I-30 back open after tanker fire

Posted: Updated:
FATE, Texas - Interstate 30 in Rockwall County was shut down for several hours early Sunday morning because of a tanker fire.

It happened near the town of Fate around 4 a.m.  Authorities say the truck was carrying nearly 8,000 gallons of gasoline.

The driver apparently swerved to miss an animal on the interstate.  That caused the tanker to roll and catch fire.  Officials say luckily that accident happened when there weren’t many people on the road.

The Interstate is back open along that stretch of road.

The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
