A candlelight vigil was held Friday night in honor of a Griffin police officer killed last weekend while working an off-duty security job.

Officer Kevin Jordan was shot early last Saturday morning in a Waffle House parking lot.

Jordan was trying to handcuff a woman who had been kicked out of the restaurant, when another man shot him in the back.

Jordan's brother returned fire, wounding the suspect, who is still hospitalized.

A viewing for Officer Jordan is set for June 8 between 4 and 8 p.m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church. His funeral will also be at Oak Hill Baptist Church June 9 at 2:30 p.m.

The officer will be buried at Westwood Gardens cemetery.

A candlelight vigil was held in Jordan's honor at the old Walmart parking lot in Griffin.

Jordan's son is set to graduate from high school on Saturday.
