Open carry supporters make another public appearance

Posted: Updated:
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - There were more than 100 open carry supporters with their long guns in North Richland Hills Saturday morning.

Open Carry Tarrant County has been in a legal fight with the City of Arlington because the city has banned people from passing out literature at busy intersections.

The group gathered for several hours in a Home Depot parking lot in North Richland Hills trying to get everyone they came across to listen to their message.

While some supported what Open Carry Tarrant County was doing, others like Lisa Whittaker didn’t like seeing that many people carrying firearms.

“I certainly wouldn’t want to walk into a restaurant and see a bunch of people wearing rifles on their shoulder,” Whittaker said.  “It would just make me nervous.”

FOX 4 has learned that Home Depot store management did not know the rally was going to happen and has said in statements that Home Depot stores will be guided by local gun carrying laws.
