TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has written a letter to President Barack Obama criticizing immigration officials for sending migrant families from Texas to Arizona and later dropping them off at Greyhound stations in Phoenix and Tucson. Brewer called the practice dangerous and unconscionable. She asked the president to provide details about the policy and whether it would continue.

Border patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas transferred over 400 migrants to Arizona over Memorial Day weekend after becoming overwhelmed by the large number of families and unaccompanied minors caught crossing the border illegally.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials then dropped off the families at Greyhound stations in Tucson and Phoenix.

Many were women with children. ICE by policy does not detain children. The migrants are required to report back to ICE.
