FORT WORTH, Texas -
Police in Fort Worth are trying to figure out who killed three women in their home Tuesday morning.
The women were discovered with their throats slit in a home in the 500 block of E. Felix Street, relatives say.
Cynthia Serrano, 48, Cynthia’s sister, 35-year-old Cathy de Leon, and Cynthia’s daughter, 21-year-old April Serrano, were found dead around 8 a.m. when Cynthia’s husband returned home from working a graveyard shift. Cynthia’s husband called 911 saying, "They stabbed my family. They killed my family," according to a police report.
"They went to church every Sunday, never missed a mass. For something like this to happen overnight, no one was expecting for this to happen to them," said Rosa Guerrero, the victims' relative.
Police would not release any more details about the homicide case.
It’s unclear whether or not police have been inside the home. Sources told FOX 4 earlier in the day on Tuesday that they had been waiting for a search warrant before going inside the home to collect evidence.
Family members were camped out at the crime scene on Tuesday, consoling each other. They all live in the area.
“We ask the public that if anybody knows who did it, please give us information,” said Rosa Guerrero, a relative of the victims.
Lorena Hamilton lives nearby.
“I just heard the lady screaming, crying and I walked outside to figure out what's going on, and I tell her, ‘You OK?’” said Hamilton. “And she said, ‘They killed my family!’”
For now, relatives are finding comfort in memories
“These three ladies, they didn't deserve this,” said relative Anthony DeLeon. Officers towed two cars from the driveway of the victims’ home on Tuesday night.
