Border agents in Arizona find 2 tons of marijuana

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Border patrol agents in southern Arizona have found more than 2 tons of marijuana being transported on a semi-truck with a livestock trailer.

Agents discovered the 4,450 pounds of pot on Wednesday night near Whetstone, Arizona, near the U.S. and Mexico border. The marijuana is valued at $2.2. million

Checkpoint agents in Sonoita, Arizona, became suspicious when they noticed that ventilation holes where cattle are hauled were plugged.

Agents arrested the driver.

The Tucson sector has seized more than 772,000 pounds of marijuana since this fiscal year began.
