FOX 29 Weather Authority Weekend Forecast

Posted: Updated:
High pressure will be in control for the entire weekend, FOX 29 Chief Meteorologist Scott Williams says.

That means there will be a lot of sunshine, and the weekend is looking pretty good overall.

But clouds will be on the increase late on Sunday.

From the 50s and 60s early on Saturday we're warming into the upper-70s and 80s across the area by afternoon, "perfect for a barbecue," Williams said.

Sunday morning is looking good to start. A few clouds start to stream in throughout the day, but we'll stay dry.

It's really not until overnight Sunday into Monday, when we start to see our next chance of rain. And that will begin an unsettled weather pattern for early next week. The weekend getaway to the Pocono Mountains looks warm at 78 on Saturday and dry on Sunday at 77, so race weather is looking great for the Pocono 400.

Down the shore we'll have beautiful conditions with highs of 77 and 76 Saturday and Sunday, respectively, and the water temperature is starting to rise a little, now at 64 degrees.

Our "Weather by the Numbers" for Saturday has a perfect "10" – "Get outdoors and enjoy," Williams said.

Sunday looks like a "9," and Monday is a "7" with scattered showers and thunderstorms returning to the forecast.

"Good chances Monday and Tuesday, and then pop-up showers as we move throughout, really, the remainder of next week," Williams said.
