Pedestrian killed after reports of person wandering in the road

FORT WORTH, Texas -

A pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning after being hit in the 2500 block of Jacksboro Highway in Fort Worth.

It happened at 2:52 a.m. as the victim was crossing the road, according to Fort Worth police.

Part of Jacksboro Highway was closed for several hours while authorities investigated.

Police said they received a call just after 2:00 Sunday morning about a man wandering in the highway near 183. Authorities arrived just before a driver hit and killed the man.

No charges are expected against the driver. The victim's identity has not been released.
