NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Stunning at 56, actress Andie MacDowell is in demand, but it didn't come easy.

"To be able to rise above it is a feat; it’s probably my greatest achievement ever," said MacDowell about a blow early in her career.

The voice of the South Carolina native was dubbed with that of acting legend Glenn Close in "The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes."

"No one has ever explained it to me. I moved on and became so successful. Wonderful things happen when you have to evolve and be strong. Things didn’t come easy for me," said MacDowell.

She went on to have starring roles in big films including 'Sex, Lives and Videotape,' and 'St.Elmo's Fire.'

The mother and working actress is an inspiration to her children.

Daughter Rainey Qualley has released her first self-titled album.

"This is my biggest achievement. I'm going to be known as Rainey Qualley's mother," said MacDowell.

The singer tells her story about her famous mother for the TylenolStoriesOfStrength.com campaign.

Her album is currently available on iTunes.
