CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are questioning four people of interest as part of an arson investigation after a series of fires in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side early Tuesday.

The first fire was started about 1:40 a.m. at a garage in the 2900 block of South Canal Street, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

Other fires were reported later in the morning in the 3000 block of South Union Avenue, Gaines said. It wasn’t immediately known how many fires were set.

Four people were being questioned Tuesday morning by detectives from the police Bomb and Arson unit, police said.
