Dallas will have to wait a bit longer to find out if it's in the running to host the 2024 Summer Olympics.
The list of finalists from the United States was selected on Tuesday at a quarterly meeting of the U.S. Olympic Committee, but the committee chose not name any of the cities selected.
The committee said it wanted to talk individually with the chosen cities before the decision is publicly announced. The USOC promised to released more information on the decision within the next 10 days.
Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington D.C. are the reported six contenders.
The USOC chairman has previously said he would like to identify the U.S. city to compete against other cities from around the world by the end of 2014.
The International Olympic Committee is slated to pick the 2024 Olympics host in 2017.
Dallas previously made a failed bid to host the 2012 Olympics, with New York representing the U.S. in front of the IOC. London was the eventual winner.
