Ft. Worth officer shoots, kills suspected burglar

Posted: Updated:
A Fort Worth police officer shot and killed a suspected burglar as he left a house where a 16-year-old girl and her younger brother were home alone on Friday.

The teenager told police she and her brother heard someone try to break in around 8:30 a.m.

While officers were on the way, the teen told 911 that the man was inside their home.

One of the officers found the armed suspect walking out of the house. The suspect reportedly pointed a gun at an officer, causing the officer to shoot.

The burglar has not been identified.

The officer, who's described as a veteran of the department, has been placed on administrative leave while the shooting is under investigation.
