Phoenix Police are searching for a suspect who's accused of grabbing three gold necklaces from around a woman's neck and ripping them off, injuring the victim.

The theft happened on Monday, June 2nd at about 4:10pm at a Chevron gas station near 51st Avenue and Southern, according to Silent Witness spokesperson Sgt. Derek Elmore.  The suspect is described as a black man, 17 to 22 years old, 170 pounds, with brown eyes and black curly hair.  He was wearing an orange baseball cap, no shirt and multicolored beach shorts.

Police say the suspect grabbed the three gold necklaces from around the victim's neck, and the woman fell to the ground, breaking her left arm.  The suspect managed to get away with two of the three necklaces, police say, and took off eastbound on Southern.  Anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to call Silent Witness anonymously at 480-WITNESS.
