Ex-Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber III was taken into custody Sunday by Mansfield police & taken to hospital for mental evaluation.
Police said they received a call of a man either by or inside a parked car in the 700 block of Moore Road on Sunday. When officers arrived, they found Barber and began talking with him.
Officers decided, based on their conversation with Barber, that he needed medical help. Police took Barber into custody and took him to a nearby hospital for mental observation.
Police said there was no one else with Barber.
Barber played in Dallas for six seasons after being drafted in 2005 by the Cowboys. Barber was released ahead of the 2011 season and played his last year with the Chicago Bears.
