MCSO racial profiling, judge orders monitor to hold meetings

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (KSAZ) -  Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his office have been under the watch of a federal judge because of racial profiling allegations.

One of the judge's requirements is that MCSO was required to have community meetings. Arpaio held those meetings, but the judge didn't like the way they were held.

Instead, a court appointed monitor took over the meetings. That monitor held the first of 21 meetings Thursday evening.

The meeting lasted over two hrs and over 100 people showed up. The monitor, Robert Warshaw, said he wanted to hear from the public in how MCSO was following the judges orders and how the reforms are going.

Warshaw encouraged people to file a complaint or compliment with MCSO.
